This piece is a poem inspired by the sunshine, Spring and Summer seasons, and that very special person in everybody’s lives: their mother.
This is a poem written when the daffodils were in full bloom, for my own mother, back in the Spring of 2012.
I’d like to thank her for all that she has ever done for my sister and I throughout our lifetimes. She is a true inspiration and superwoman in my eyes.
I hope you like it.

Yellow Daffodil
Imagine,
a youthful daffodil
as it thrives
beneath the yellow
amidst a field of green.
Imagine if you were that yellow,
Overbearing?
No.
Interfering?
No.
Just there, to nurture,
and little daffodil, she grows.
Imagine,
a towering sunflower
as it leans
against the panel
above the field of green.
Are you still that yellow?
There, but not so bright.
There, but fading.
There, everlasting,
but not always present
as the rain sets in.
And yet, towering sunflower, he continues to grow.
The sun, the light,
even when not so bright.
I may not always need you,
He may not always need you,
but you are always there,
our Mother.
