#MeetOurWriters – Gail Aldwin

To welcome in the new month, we thought it was about time we properly introduced the winners of our ‘Siblings’ poetry competition who we are now working with to complete and publish their full poetry collections! First up, as part of our #WeekendWriting, is Gail Aldwin.

Settled in Dorchester since 2006, Gail Aldwin is Chair of the Dorset Writers’ Network. With the steering group she supports the skills and confidence of writers across the county by connecting creative communities. In 2016, Gail won first prize in the Bournemouth National Poetry Day competition and her poetry was commended in the 2017 Mother’s Milk Books Writing Prize. Her poems are published online at Words for the Wild, The Five-Two and Slamchop. Gail’s collection of short fiction Paisley Shirt is published by Chapeltown Books and was longlisted in the best short story category of the Saboteur Awards 2018. You can find Gail @gailaldwin and
