#WednesdayWriter – Lerah Mae Barcenilla

Born in Manila, Philippines, Lerah Mae Barcenilla grew up in a small village full of magic, tradition and superstition. Her prose and poetry has been published in The Student Wordsmith’s The Purple Breakfast Review, PETRie Inventory, and Disclaimer Magazine.

Having recently graduated from the University of Leicester with a BA in English, you can usually find Lerah highly-caffeinated and self-idly scribbling on a notebook in hipster coffee shops, admiring South East Asian lyrics and anime, or taking photographs of cherry blossoms.

She is a member of the Writing West Midlands Room 204 Writer Development Scheme (2017-2018) and, as well as writing for The Student Wordsmith, Lerah also writes about South East and East Asian music and films at UnitedKpop, BeatCraze Events and Culturefly.

She is currently writing a novel in the speculative sci-fi genre.

You can find some of her writing and photography here.
